Brac, also called the island of grapes and olives, with a population of 13,000, is the largest island of Dalmatia. It is also the location of the highest peak of all Adriatic islands: Vidova Gora at 774m above sea level, provides a spectacular view from the top, where all other islands are visible in clear weather.

Supetar is mainly the destination of Croatian nationals, as opposed to Bol, which is more popular amongst foreign tourists.

There is a regular boat service from the port of Supetar to Split, and also there is a regular bus service to Bol. This 45-minute journey is quite exciting as the winding mountain road climbs up the hill to several hundred metres high with breathtaking views, then descends to Bol on the other side of the island.

The resort of Bol is highly popular thanks to its 10km beach and its various entertaining facilities. This is the town of the famous Golden Horn, the iconic coastal feature of thousands of postcards and travel brochures.

This piece of land literally changes its shape month by month, because of the waves and currents of the sea. It can be beautifully observed from the top of the Vidova Gora mountain, mentioned above.
