The Island of Hvar, Croatia

With an annual 2,715 hours of sunshine - a daily average of 7.7 hours - Hvar is the sunniest island of the Adriatic. Apart from its natural beauty, the island has a rich history as well: it is the place of of the best preserved examples of Venetian architecture, and also the oldest settlement of Croatia, and one of the oldest ones in Europe: Stari Grad.
