On a short break, the most important things to see are the St Nicolas Cathedral, the Castle of Ljubljana, the Bishop’s Palace and the Triple Bridge.

As in many other cities of Europe, such as London and Paris, Ljubljana has also introduced its own bicycle rental scheme. There are some two dozens of bicycle docking stations throughout the city centre, a few hundred metres apart.

If you happen to be there on a Saturday, don’t miss the Ljubljana market, east of the Triple Bridge, where craftsmen sell their works under the arches just by the river, as well as florists, bakers and other marketers selling their goods on the square.
